Electrical Fault Finding & Repairs
RCD keeps tripping? Socket stopped working? Lights flickering? Lost power to part of the house? I can test the circuit, find the cause and repair the fault properly.
Tripping RCDs, dead circuits, buzzing sockets or intermittent electrical faults — I'll find the cause and fix it, not just patch over the symptom. A lot of electrical problems look similar from the outside. The useful bit is working out whether it's a damaged accessory, a loose connection, a failing fitting or something further back on the circuit.
If I can repair it there and then, I will. If it needs parts or a follow-up visit, you'll get a clear explanation and a price first.

Sockets & Switches
Cracked, loose, scorched or just tired-looking sockets and switches are a common job — and they're well worth getting sorted properly. I can replace damaged accessories, fit USB sockets where they make sense, and carry out minor additions on a suitable existing circuit where appropriate.
If you send a photo on WhatsApp, I can usually give you a good idea of the cost before I come out. Guide price for an extra socket is from £95, depending on the walls and the existing wiring.

Lighting
Light Fittings, LEDs & Dimmers
Need a new light fitting put up? An old halogen downlight swapped for LED? A dimmer that no longer works with the lamps you've got? Lighting jobs are a big part of what I do, including replacing existing external lights.
You can supply the fitting or ask me to suggest something sensible. Guide price for a light fitting replacement is from £65. I'll check the existing point is suitable and leave the job neat — no dangling cables or half-finished holes.

Electrical Testing
Electrical testing is useful when you want a proper picture of the installation — not a scare story. I carry out EICRs, investigate faults with test instruments, and check existing installations so you know what's going on.
An EICR (Electrical Installation Condition Report) is a formal inspection and test of the fixed wiring. I'll explain anything found in plain English. If remedial work is needed, I'll say what's actually required and give you a price before carrying it out.
EICRs for a typical 2–3 bedroom property start from £120.

For landlords and agents
Landlord EICRs & Electrical Repairs
Straightforward electrical safety reports with clear explanations of anything found. If remedial work is required, I'll explain what's actually needed and provide a price before carrying anything out.
EICRs are suitable for landlords, homeowners, property buyers and sellers, and letting agents. I can also help with smoke or heat alarm replacement or maintenance, and other remedial repairs that come out of the report where they're suitable for me to carry out.
